Ashley’s Mississippi employees along with the Chairman of the Board donate over $51,500

ECRU, Miss. – For the sixteenth year, Ashley Furniture Industries (Ashley) employees, from the company’s Ecru, Verona, Ripley, and Saltillo, Mississippi locations, have made a generous donation of $29,908 to Le Bonheur’s Children’s Hospital. This donation, made possible through Ashley’s “Dollar a Week” program, was raised through employee contributions to support one of the leading children’s hospitals in the United States. In total, Ashley employees have contributed $316,378 toward this cause since 2006.

“The entire Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital family appreciate the generous donation from the North Mississippi employees of Ashley Furniture,” Le Bonheur President and CEO Michael Wiggins said. “Because of their support, Le Bonheur will continue to offer the best care to children from throughout the region whenever they need us.”

Ashley’s “Dollar a Week” program also supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which raised $21,642 in 2021 to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children. ® Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Since 2012, Ashley’s Mississippi employees have contributed $237,457 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“Ashley Furniture employees are an important part of our St. Jude family, and we are filled with gratitude for this generous donation from its Dollar a Week program,” said Steve Froehlich, Chief Revenue Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Partnerships like this are critical to fueling the $11.5 billion, six-year St. Jude strategic plan, which accelerates research and treatment for childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases across the globe.”

In addition to these employee contributions, Ron Wanek, Founder and Chairman of Ashley Furniture Industries, and his wife Joyce made a personal donation of $5,000 to each organization.

“We are proud to support both of these outstanding organizations in their efforts to find cures for childhood diseases,” said Ron Wanek, Founder and Chairman, Ashley Furniture Industries, “I am honored by all of our employees who continue this generosity year after year and we hope this gift helps ease some of the burden on patients’ families.”
