ARCADIA, Wis. – On Thursday, May 24, Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. (Ashley) held a flag raising ceremony at each of their manufacturing facilities in the U.S. in honor of Memorial Day. Ashley executives from Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin, along with members of their local military groups, provided the ceremony to remember those who served our country and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day for Ashley employees and guests.
“Memorial Day has great meaning to me, as I spent seven years on active duty in the United States Army. My father and three of my brothers are also veterans of the military,” said Paul Pelissero, Ashley Furniture Industries. “It is a great gesture on Ashley Furniture’s part to conduct Flag Raising ceremonies around the country, so that people remember the true meaning of Memorial Day: To honor those brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. Military.”
Following the flag raising ceremony, a moment of silence was held to honor those who have passed in the line of duty.
