Nashville, TN - Nashville is known as the “Music City,” so this good news will sound like music to your ears – 25 kids, most of whom slept on the floor, couch, or shared a mattress with a relative received a bed to call their own. Thanks to the partnership between Ashley HomeStore, the Nashville Sounds baseball team, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, these children can have a better night’s sleep, and they even had a special day of fun.

On Aug. 23, the children were surprised at First Tennessee Park, where they enjoyed a pizza party courtesy of Hunt Brothers Pizza, activities in the stadium funzone, taking silly photos with FishEyeFun photo booth and running bases with four Sounds players after taking a tour of the arena.

And that’s not all – after those 25 deserving kids had their beds delivered home, an additional 25 beds were donated to more Boys and Girls Club members and their families within the next few weeks. There are now 50 more people whose dreams came true.

This is a way to get healthy…have energy to learn, be active in school, be active out of school and all those types of things, Todd Garten with Ashley HomeStore told WKRN . A good night’s sleep sets the stage for us all, but especially for kids.

Russell, one of the children who were surprised that day, agreed.

It’s so comfortable! I want to fall asleep! He said.
